Club Fundraiser

 

Silvermines GAA Club in conjunction with Silvermines Camogie, Handball and LGFA are in the process of organising ‘Silvermines Goes to the Movies’ a joint fundraiser in aid of the club development and the completion of the sports hall in Dolla. This promises to be a fantastic event and will culminate in a ‘Movie Night’ on Saturday 8th of November in the Abbey Court Hotel. Further details over the coming weeks.

 

Golf Classic

Silvermines GAA are hosting a Golf Classic on Friday 18th July in Nenagh Golf Club as part of a fundraising effort to assist in the ongoing development and running of the club. Entry for a team of four will be 140 euro. All support will be greatly appreciated. Please contact Maeve DeLoughry for further details.

 

U-13 North Hurling

Hard luck to our 13 'B' hurlers who were defeated by Ballina on a scoreline of 6-5 to 1-6on Tuesday evening last in Dolla. Our next game is against Kiladangan in Puckane at 8pm on Tuesday 8th of July.

 

Lotto

Our Lotto jackpot is now €5,400. Tickets can be bought from committee members or in a number of outlets in Nenagh where the Lotto jackpot is displayed. Lotto tickets can also be bought and renewed online.

 

U15 A Hurling League

We suffered a 6-22 to 2-7 defeat to a strong Toomevara side in the North U15 A hurling league on Thursday evening last in Toomevara. Hard luck to all involved.  We face Ballinahinch/Templederry this Thursday eveningin Shallee at 7.30pm. All support appreciated.

 

U17 A Hurling

Silvermines face Burgess in Kilcolman at 7.30pm on Monday next 7th of July in the first round of the championship. All support appreciated.

 

Tipp v Galway

 

Best wishes to Jason Forde and Michael Corcoran and the Tipperary team and management in their All-Ireland semi-final clash with Kilkenny in Croke Park on Sunday. Also, best of luck to Sarah Madden, Ellen Cunneen and Niamh Cunneen and the Tipperary Senior Camogie side in their quarter-final clash with Kilkenny, also in Croke Park, on Sunday.

 

1979 Silvermines Junior Hurling Team Get-together

A re-union of the Silvermines Junior Hurling panel of 1979 is being organised. That team won for the club its first North Tipperary Junior Hurling title and also the club’s first ever county title on the field of play. The re-union is scheduled for Friday October 17th  and will be held in Buddy’s of Capparoe. Hopefully all surviving members of that successful panel will attend. Further details closer to the time.
