County League

Silvermines Overcame Burgess by 2-17 to 4-10 in an absorbing County League encounter in Kilcolman on Sunday afternoon last. Silvermines hit two goals in the first half with both Danny Quinn and Oisin Murphy on target but the home side also netted two with Eoin Hogan bagging a brace to ensure Burgess kept pace with the Mines’.

Silvermines led 2-8 to 2-6 at the break both sides were reduced to 14 men early in the second half following a schemozzle in the middle of the field. Burgess were back on terms midway through the second half with a well-worked third goal but Silvermines kept the pressure on with Conor McKelvey, Andrew Hayden and Bryan Seymour on target for the Mines’. Burgess kept battling hard though and a fourth goal for the home side brought them back on terms before a late Silvermines point deep in injury time ensured a first league victory for the ‘Mines.

Junior County League

Our Juniors travelled to Gortnahoe to take on Gortnahoe-Glengoole on Sunday afternoon in a Division 5 also but were defeated on a scoreline of 3-15 to 1-11. Silvermines trailed by 1-9 to 0-4 at the interval with the home side pulling further clear in the second half to register a ten-point victory.

U-13 Football 

Silvermines B team are through to the North U-13 semi-final against Roscrea on Tuesday 30th April in Dolla.

U-15 Football

Silvermines play Moneygall in Moneygall on Thursday evening at 7pm. Best of luck also to the side who will take part in the Tipperary Peil Na nOg this coming Saturday.

Membership

Membership for 2024 is still open and can be renewed online on the Foireann app or website. This is the easiest way to pay club membership and all membership packages for the club, gym and walking track are clearly set out. Membership must be paid by all players before the season commences.

Camogie League Final

Huge congratulations to the Tipperary team and management and especially  our own Ellen Cunneen and Sarah Madden who were victorious over Galway in the ‘Very’ National Camogie Division 1 League final in Croke Park at the weekend.

Our club Lotto is now at 10,300 euro. Tickets can be bought from committee members or in a number of outlets in Nenagh where the Lotto jackpot is displayed. Lotto tickets can also be bought and renewed online.
