Silvermines GAA Notes
Junior C’s through to North Final
Silvermines overcame Kiladangan by 1-20 to 2-9 in what proved an entertaining and close-fought Junior C championship semi-final clash in Dolla on Saturday afternoon last.
The opening half proved a tight affair and despite an early Kiladangan goal the home side fought back thanks to a brace of points from Brian Seymour and a fine effort from John Madigan. Further points from Seymour, Brian Leamy and John Ryan added to the ‘Mines tally and together with four well-struck Fionn Ryan-Mulqueen frees they kept pace with a well-drilled Kiladangan side.
Silvermines went in level at the break, 0-9 to 2-6 but again Brian Seymour and Fionn Ryan-Mulqueen were to the fore in the scoring stakes, notching up a further four points apiece in the second half. In addition to this half-time substitute Michéal Ryan-Prendiville fired over two points and copper-fastened a hard-earned victory for the men in blue and white with his side's only goal right on the stroke of full-time.
Silvermines will now face Kilruane MacDonaghs in the North final. Please keep an eye on North Tipperary GAA fixtures for the date and time of the final.
Scorers: F. Ryan-Mulqueen 0-8 (0-6f), B. Seymour 0-6 (0-1f), B. Leamy 0-2, M. Ryan Prendiville 1-2, J. Ryan and J. Madigan 0-1 each.
