Junior C’s through to North semi-final
Silvermines overcame Borris-Ileigh by 0-14 to 0-12 in what proved an entertaining and close-fought Junior C championship clash in Dolla on Saturday afternoonlast.
Silvermines led by 0-9 to 0-6 at the break at the break with the Mines’ first half points coming from Fionn Ryan Mulqueen (0-2), Bryan Seymour (0-2), Sean Quinlan (0-1f) and Aaron Mulqueen (0-1) but by midway through the second half the home side were back on terms thanks to points from Fionn Ryan Mulqueen, Bryan Seymour (0-2) and Sean Quinlan (free).
With the sides locked at 0-10 apiece the home side edge in front again thanks to a fine John Ryan effort. Borris-Ileigh responded with a brace but a second John Ryan effort brought the Mines’ upsides again, 0-12 apiece,
Silvermines pushed on in the closing stages with further points from Sean Quinlan (free) and Damien Egan ensuring a well-deserved victory and also ensuring automatic qualification for this year's semi-final stages.
Scorers: B. Seymour 0-4, S. Quinlan 0-3f, F. Ryan-Mulqueen 0-3, J. Ryan 0-2, A. Mulqueen and D. Egan 0-1 each.
North Under 21 ‘B’ Hurling
We are down to play Lorrha/Shannon Rovers in the opening round of the North Tipperary under 21 championship at 2pm on Sunday 22nd October in Lorrha.
